Elevated Work Platforms are becoming more prominant within our industry, enabling wider flexibility and a comprehensive range of work tasks can now be completed safely from them.

So workers need to be competent in the safe operation as they are often working in close proximity to live conductors. 

Elevating Work Platform (EWP) aims to give participants the appropriate skills and knowledge to operate a truck mounted elevated work platform (EWP).

The training and assessment includes practical hands-on skills including:

• planning and risk management
• applicable legislations and standards
• EWP types
• characteristics and uses
• mobile plant and employee MAD's
• inspection
• maintenance and testing of the EWP
• appropriate PPE
• correct set up
• safe and efficient operation techniques
• attachments - correct use of harness for attachment
• spotting
• shut-down and stowage procedures and associated paperwork

Our training methodology

Wire and Fitness Ltd has a flexible mix of a face-to-face training, open learning and blended learning, and for certain courses, trainees can choose a suitable delivery method whilst easily switching or combining learning modes. This progressive approach ensures the electrical industry has a constantly growing pool of trained and qualified tradespeople.  Our trainers are some of the most experienced & knowledgeable instructors in the industry, and we pride ourselves on our ability to provide tradesmen with the necessary skills and training they need to progress in their chosen careers.

All Electrical Training is offered both midweek and weekends (by special request) to minimise work disruptions, down time and loss of profit while training. We provide training courses nationwide throughout New Zealand.
