NZ Certificate in Electricity Supply (Utility Arboriculture) - Level 3 with an optional strand in Insulated Tool Work
This qualification is designed for individuals with an arboriculture background or those currently training in the field.
It aims to equip the Electricity Supply and Arboriculture industries with skilled workers who have the knowledge, practical experience, and abilities to perform Utility Arboriculture while adhering to best practices.
Graduates will be able to carry out Utility Arboriculture to meet legal and industry standards, take responsibility for their work with minimal supervision, and ensure public safety.
Those who choose the optional strand in insulated tool work will gain the skills to safely use insulated tools around power lines during arboriculture tasks.
Graduates of this qualification will be able to:
- Ensure that health and safety, regulatory and legislative requirements are met, while undertaking the work of Utility Arboriculture.
- Apply skills, knowledge and follow industry standards and procedures when working as a Utility Arborist around electricity supply power lines and cables.
- Apply a range of communication procedures and processes relevant to the occupation of a Utility Arborist.
- Graduates of the Insulated Tool Work strand will also be able to:
- Use insulating tools, plant and equipment, when working as a Utility Arborist around electricity supply power lines and cables.
