Health & Safety in the ESI

 

Health and Safety is paramount within the Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) and with Wire and Fitness Ltd. The EEA have an industry Workplace Health and Safety Strategy to 2020 aims to lift electricity supply industry health and safety performance through vision, direction and co-ordinated action into the future. Wire and Fitness Ltd is in full support of this strategy and welcome the opportunity to implement the strategies and adopt safer methods of working for all stakeholders invloved.

Vision of EEA for Health and Safety in the ESI

Our vision is to unite the electricity supply industry in a common goal to make our workplaces safe and free from work-related ill-health.

EEA Goals

The goal is to eliminate fatalities, and significantly reduce severe accidents from work-related activity and serious harm from work-related diseases and ill-health.

Delivery

Wire and Fitness Ltd through The Electricity Supply Industry will reduce harm through training aimed to:

  • Focus on significant hazard and risk areas including fatal and high impact low probability risks
  • Focus on the work-related health risks that are identified as priorities within the ESI to ensure that they are being effectively and correctly documented
  • Pro-actively assessing both health and safety risks from new technologies, processes, substances and work procedures
  • Supporting our industry officers and PCBUs to exercise due diligence duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and ensure, as far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety of workers
  • Promoting engagement and participation from workers and engagement between PCBUs
  • Promoting health and well-being in ESI workplace

Wire and Fitness Ltd will support and promote The Electricity Supply Industry in support and facilitation of the provision of:

  • Up to date knowledge of workplace health and safety matters and information to assist in eliminating or minimising health and safety risks
  • A common understanding of industry hazards and risks including those associated with work-related ill-health
  • The timely sharing of information on work-related health and safety incidents, hazards and risks sharing good practice on health promotion and well-being initiatives.
