The aim of this course is to provide the necessary skill set to work safely on electricity structures.
Poles used for distribution lines come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and designs. Experience and practice are necessary in order to climb these structures safely and efficiently. This training unit presents a basic overview of the tools and equipment, planning and techniques necessary for climbing electricity structures.
Working on pole structures is a skill set developed over time. Various techniques of working on poles will be demonstrated and taught using a range of tools and equipment.
Safe work practices will be taught as well as how to climb and work on the electricity network structures and operating light lifting and rigging equipment.
